Three Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures to Restore a Person’s Smile

All on four cost

First impressions are everything, and nothing makes a stronger impact on a person when you’re first meeting them than your smile. A bright smile filled with straight teeth gives people the impression that you’re happy, confident, and healthy. In fact, virtually all adults (99.7%) believe that a smile is an important social asset, and 96% of adults believe that an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to the opposite sex. Not only that, but 74% of adults feel that an attractive smile can hurt a person’s chance to have success in his or her career.

Yet, some people hide their smile, because they’re embarrassed by their crooked or discolored teeth. What these people might not be aware of is that advancements in dental cosmetics have made it so that it’s possible to fix a person’s smile quickly and affordably. How? Here are a few different cosmetic dentistry services that a Ventura dentist can provide to create a winning smile!

Teeth Whitening.

Teeth whitening is by far the most popular cosmetic dental treatment that people get. A Ventura dentist uses a chemical process to bleach teeth in one of two ways–with an in-office procedure, or with a home-use system. Whitening at home can be more convenient, but it can also take much longer, as long as two to four weeks in fact. In-office whitening, on the other hand, takes place in either one or more 45 to 60 minute visits. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that since whitening products aren’t meant to actually clean teeth, practicing routine dental hygiene such as brushing twice a day is still very important to retain that new, healthy, bright smile.

Bonding.

If there’s excess space between teeth, if they’re chipped, broken, stained, or cracked, or if there’s small cavities, then a Ventura dentist can bond them. The procedure is done usually in a single office visit. The Ventura dentist will apply an etching solution that’s followed by tooth-colored materials, which are usually resins, directly to the surface of the tooth where the treatment is needed.

Veneers.

Veneers are custom shells typically made out of porcelain or plastic that cover the front sides of the teeth to change their color and/or their shape. A Ventura dentist will use veneers to improve teeth that have spaces between them, that are chipped or worn, that are permanently stained, poorly shaped, or slightly crooked. A Ventura dentist will use veneers to treat the same issues as bonding, but veneers are permanent, unlike dental bonding. Veneers are also more affordable than crowns, and they have better color stability than bonding.

These are just a few of the treatments that a Ventura dentist can use to give a person his or her smile back. If you have any questions about these cosmetic procedures that a Ventura dentist can supply, feel free to ask in the comments. Find more.
